Tile

Imagine What You Can Do With Tile! Even after thousands of years, the world of ceramic (and now porcelain) tile becomes more intriguing all the time.

Technology has allowed the tile industry to imbue more visual depth into these products so that outside stone looks -- brick, quarry stone and slate -- can be recreated in ceramic and porcelain tile. Also, the larger the format, the more natural the product will have the natural outside look.

Ever want to continue your design plan and take it outdoors? How about flowing tiles to your patio and other outside areas as an extension of your design plan?

There’s another phenomenon you can use to your advantage with tile. Color -- more than ever! As our world shrinks and our colors become more globally influenced, colors at home just as in our wardrobe are becoming more vibrant.

In tile as in clothing the idea of contrast is very popular right now. Grays and neutrals are being shown along vibrant colors, glass and pearlescents, like seashell, to show color off even more.

A trend that started years ago with the evolution of much larger homes is tiles getting bigger and bigger, even in unusual shapes of up to 24x48 inches and 18x36 inches. When mixed with smaller sizes, the end result is a random, natural and outdoorsy feel. There are plenty of sizes to choose from right down to the small glass mosaics in button sizes of 1.5 centimeter to 5mm.

Another popular look results from what are called “rectified tiles.” Technology has made it possible to make very smooth finishes so that tiles of ceramic, porcelain or stone can be butted together closely without the use of grout, many times in sculptured shapes. Not only does this eliminate the “grout gutter” or grid look, but the rectified tiles also allow you to install an almost seamless-looking installation which looks like a single sheet of stone.

Can you imagine the options? If you can, lets us show you how to tile in style!
